GORGEOUS PAIR of vintage Italian Brevettato White Marble and gilt brass candelabras or garnitures.
Check out our Brief Commentary !
They were probably originally made in the mid-20th Century as garnitures to accompany an Italian Mantel Clock.
The work PERFECTLY however on their own as a pair of Candelabras…..good enough to grace the most elegant of Dining Tables.
A candelabrum /ˌkændəlˈɑːbrəm, -æbrəm/ (plural candelabrums, candelabra, candelabras), sometimes called a candle tree, is a candle holder with multiple arms. The word comes from Latin.
In modern usage the plural form “candelabra” is frequently used in the singular sense, with the true singular form “candelabrum” becoming rare. Likewise, “candelabra” and “candelabras” are preferred over “candelabrums” as the plural form. Although the electrification of indoor lighting has relegated candleholders to the status of backup light sources in most homes and other buildings, interior designers continue to model light fixtures and lighting accessories after candelabra and candlesticks. Accordingly, the term “candelabra” has entered common use as a collective term for small-based incandescent light bulbs used in chandeliers and other lighting fixtures made for decoration as well as lighting.
The Iglesia ni Cristo and Jewish menorah is a special kind of candelabrum.
They sit on a gilt brass base which is heavily cast in beautiful detailed patterns…..pure quality !!
The front of the base has a central motif of a floral broach medallion……it is surrounded with swags and sits on four paw feet.
On top of the base there is a square white marble plinth. This extends upwards to a baluster vase shaped central portion…..again made of white marble…..but encased in gilt brass swags and banding. Two bronzed cherubs sit either side of the central section.
They then extend upwards to a fluted brushed bronze upper section that leads to the gilt brass floral, curved, candle holders. Each Candelabra has 7 holders for seven candles. 14 candles between the pair.
The candle section of the candelabra is decorated with a pair of eagle heads……..ending in the central candle holder.
These were HIGH QUALITY items when they were made and would have retailed in a HIGH-END STORE !
A pair of these candelabras would easily fetch over $3,000 if in mint condition.

Unfortunately, these are not in absolutely mint condition….they have some defects, namely, one of them has been professionally repaired at the fluted section. Minor repairs to the fluted section on the other one.
Despite the repairs they are still BEAUTIFUL and HIGHLY DESIRABLE.
We have reduced the price accordingly.
